Guy Corriveau is Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Emergency Planner and Manager.
He has over twenty-five years experience at various capacities, at all levels of Canadian government, and with various non-government agencies in mitigating against, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from, many all-hazard situations.
His career has included military service as an officer in the Canadian Army, graduate studies specializing in disaster management (culminating with a Masters degree of Public Administration), certification through the International Association of Emergency Managers as a Certified Emergency Manager (CEMâ), the provision of general consulting and contracting services as a policy analyst, and was (founding) Director Disaster Management for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.
He is a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII – Canada), and a life member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association International (AFCEA International).
Guy is currently serving his second three year term (to December 2011) as a CEM® Commissioner for the International Association of Emergency Managers, and was recently elected Vice Chair of the US CEM® Commission.
